roz awards 2012

Here are the results of the first part of this year's #RozAwards. It's my chance to look back on the year and tweet my favourite designers, collections, blogs, stores and more, and the perfect platform for my followers on Twitter to do the same.

Thank you to everyone who joined in. The rest of the #RozAwards will take place on New Year's Day, the 1st of January at 5pm GMT (12noon EST).

Here are the results so far, as well as some of the tweets with your opinions:

favourite collection

My winner: A.F. Vandevorst: Loved the moody styling of vandevorst and continuation from a/w. wonderful draping, exquisite cuts and rich colours

Honourable mentions: Haider Ackermann, Carlos Miele, Barbara Bui

@MeredyA: @Burberry was my fav! Loved so many looks + best show.
@Velveteena16: My favorite collection was DKNY. It had my favorite colors (all dark). Skirts and jackets were amazing!
@HiFashionSherin: I'm going to be cliche: I loved McQueen SS13 - one of my faves for sure
@KatePinkSmith: that's a toughie. Think @ElieSaabWorld #rozawards. Beautiful shapes & lines and gorgeous luxury fabrics & floaty champagnes
@FromAtoStyle: Haider Ackermann
@blingmistress: My favourite would have to be Mary Katrantzou AW12 as I love the use of prints of everyday objects in higher end fashion :)
@MissNadiaNaz: I have to say fav collection was Chanel AW12 purely biased as I interned but the jewel tones and eyebrows!

favourite accessories designer

My winner: Charlotte Olympia: She wins for her iconic designs, superior quality and strong narrative in her collections

Honourable mentions: Christian Louboutin, Sophie Hulme, and Herve van der Straeten. Louboutin's recent collections have really improved, while Sophie Hulme is an emerging designer worth keeping an eye on.

@KatePinkSmith: Fendi! Though not overall impressed SS13 tbh. Hmmmm need to think,....
@HiFashionSherin: It was a year for upcoming designers. Tahir Sultan, who showed at LFW for SS13 is one to watch. Incredible talent
@FromAtoStyle: @MichaelKors-- to die for bags!
@Velveteena16: tough one... So many great ones.. Love Charlotte Olympia shoes!
@Meredya: this is a hard category for me. I feel like bags and shoes should be separate.
@LouboutinJools: agree about Olympia - amazing & Fun! Still YSL tribs for me as the only heel you can wear all day
@blingmistress: Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel (bags), Charlotte Olympia(shoes), Van Cleef (jewellery)
@ShanthiNelissen: I'm loving statement jewellery at the moment. Has to be Mawi
@blingmistress: I agree with Mawi! I loved their collection with Disney, got a few pieces from them :)
@SnobGirl: fav shoe designer is mr Rupert Sanderson. The way thy are made and the design is DIVINE

favourite shoe of 2012

My winner: Louboutin Equestria: Louboutin's A/W collection was very strong, and the Equestria has a unique look but timeless quality to it

@LouboutinJools: Valentino Rockstuds for me I think - amazing as a flat or as a kitten heel
@Meredya: Barbara Bui, Dior and Balmain shoes I loved!
@blingmistress: I'm with @LouboutinJools here . I am absolutely in love with my rockstud flats!
@Meredya: honorable mention is Ermanno Scervino wedges. Just some lovely shoes.
@Velveteena16: Louboutins of course, Charlotte Olympia, Valentino & YSL.. All make beautiful, exotic, wearable shoes!
@Reena_Rai: Shoes - Generally speaking, loved Balmain, Balenciaga and Kirkwood. Stand out shoes were Valentino studded flats
@Meredya: other notable mentions of course are Louboutin, Charlotte Olympia + Manolo - saw in so many 2012 shows.
@MissNadiaNaz:  in with you guys best shoe purchase of the year rockstud flats!Took a year to find! #mybabies

favourite bag of 2012

My winner: 'Hamilton' by Michael by Michael Kors: I think the Hamilton is a nice, simple, timeless bag and affordable too – it really caught my eye, despite being from a diffusion line

@Meredya: I def sought after the @givenchy nightingale all year. Also, love Stella McCartney's bags as of lately.
@blingmistress: I think my fave would have to be the Chanel velvet boy bag(still cant find one :(
@Reena_Rai: Bags - a little underwhelmed to be honest. 3.1 Phillip Lim had a couple of nice bags. Sophie Hulme was everywhere this year
@Velveteena16: yes I know... Chanel, Celine... #rozawards
@Reena_Rai: But I really liked the Valentino studded tote. Nothing really stood out this year though
@HiFashionSherin: I secretly loved the Mulberry Lana Bag #rozawards Really stunning bag.
@KatePinkSmith: always the Chanel 2.55, not the hideous hoolahoop ones! Love the @YSL b&w Cabas chyc too
@Reena_Rai: The Boy bag is lovely, forgot about it for a second
@Velveteena16: oh so many of course can't forget @MichaelKors

favourite diffusion/affordable designer

My winner: B by Brian Atwood: Although not a clothing designer, I think a lot of B by Brian Atwood’s designs are more exciting than his main line

Honourable mentions: The Row, and Etoile Isabele Marant

@KatePinkSmith: MK By @MichaelKors #rozawards. Great line. So affordable, and some great pieces.
@Meredya: always love @DVF - she is the first who comes to mind.
@SnobGirl: My personal fav for affordable designer this year is either @Carven and @alice+olivia
@ShanthiNelissen I love Helmut Lang and Alexander Wang. Can dress up or down, day to night. The pieces all work together
@KatePinkSmith: @DVF great shout. Love her stuff. A real go to for me for Fabulous casual chic
@blingmistress: Definitely etoile isabel marant for me!
@velveteena16: definitely MK @MichaelKors for me! Affordable and beautiful pieces
@Reena_Rai: I don't think you can beat Michael by Michael Kors, super affordable for really great quality
@HiFashionSherin: Agreed. I love Michael by MK #rozawards

favourite collaboration

My winner: Mary Katrantzou x Top Shop: For me, Topshop and Mary Katrantzou were a better fit and more compatible than any of the H&M collaborations

@MissNadiaNaz: definitely @MaryKatrantzou for Topshop wins best diffusion for her collaboration with Topshop! Amazing pieces!
@KatePinkSmith: think for the long term ones @Debenhams ones for me opposed to the gimmick H&M ones
@Meredya: [Mary Katrantzou] too. Excellent choice
@blingmistress: I definitely love the Margiela for H&M collab as I love the mainline anyway so it was a plus and it was well-made!
@FromAtoStyle: agreed! @rozfashionista my winner for ‘best collaboration’ is topshop x mary katrantzou #rozawards
@Reena_Rai: Unsure on best, but H&M x Margiela was strange, still unsure whether I love/hate it. Topshop x J.W. Anderson was awful too
@MissNadiaNaz: I think Topshop is taking over the collabs, made to fit, good quality unlike @hm which never get it right with pp
