2013 Roz Awards - Part 3

Oh, hello! In part one we looked at best bags, best collection and more, while in part two we reflected on best blog, best store, and best fashion book.

In the concluding part of my review of the 2013 Roz  Awards, we cover celebrity style both on and off the red carpet, trends and fashion faux pas. Scroll towards the end of this article to see thoughts on what’s in store for next year’s awards.

Best Celebrity Style

My Nominees: Olivia Palermo, Victoria Beckham
My Favourite: Olivia Palermo

The Olsen Twins, PR Fashion Beauty's winners
Contributors’ Favourites:

@kul7 has to be olivia palermo

@KatePinkSmith probably Sarah Jessica Parker actually. Very varied. Can wear anything with panache. Not afraid to experiment

@ambarinahasan Not so sure about celeb style, there's so much stylist input, not sure how much it reflects celeb's own style :(

@snobgirl hmm this is a difficult one but putting aside the fabulous work stylists do I would vote for @victoriabeckham #rozawards

@PRFashionBeauty: Fave celeb style - I cannot get enough of the #OlsenTwins #RozAwards pic.twitter.com/8qdIH4g8lo

@TKFashnOutlook Although she’s not a major celebrity but Oliva Palermo is one and the other fave celeb is Kerry Washington

@CarolinaOgliaro Olivia Palermo rules!!

@pradajunky I do like @garypeppergirl style 'favourite celebrity style'

Biggest Fashion Faux Pas

My Nominees: Miley Cyrus for pretty much everything, Kim Kardashian for her Hermes hatchet job, Dolce & Gabbana for that black lace dress they wheel out every season
My Winner: Miley Cyrus. Kim Kardashian misses out as I vowed never to use ‘Kim Kardashian’ and ‘Fashion’ in the same sentence

So, that’s the Roz Awards done and dusted for another year. Next year it’ll be back, sort of – it’ll probably be called the Rozzies or something more inspired due to its tendency to trend on Twitter.

I will likely change some of the categories, too. @JonnyStylist made a few suggestions for some extras, one of which – Favourite Fashion Book – I used, the rest unfortunately I didn’t have time to include.

The ‘Best Collection’ designer was one a lot of people struggled to whittle down to one, as did I. So I will have a think about how best to sub-categorise that.

The ‘Best Celebrity Style’ category was divisive as a lot of people highlighted the fact that it’s more of a battle of the stylists rather than a battle of celebrities. I agree, actually, although I always look at celebrities as clotheshorses in this respect, but nevertheless, I’ll drop this category next year but will keep ‘Best Red Carpet Look’.

Finally, the categories I loved were ‘Best Blogger’ and ‘Best Instagram’ – it introduced a lot of new bloggers/tweeps to myself and I know to a lot of participants, too. That said, for me at least it was hard choosing a single blogger, much to Style on the Couch’s disappointment. It was basically a coin-toss between her and the other nominees, but I’m happy she got a lot of love from other tweeps.

Finally, the awards clocked in at 2hrs 21min – interested to know whether this is too long for people. It almost broke me and my retweet button. But I think it’s nice to have people dipping in and out.

If you have any suggestions, please tweet me at @rozfashionista. This blog is basically a barren wasteland for most of the year so there’s no guarantee I’ll see your comments.

Finally; big, huge, soppy thanks to everyone who got involved on the night and since. I really appreciate it – Roz Awards only works because people get involved.
